PID music questions

Featured Replies

I'm on the point of ordering a Citigo tomorrow and would appreciate confirmation that I can play my music through the PID without problems.

Does it take SD or Micro SD cards?

What's the maximum capacity it can handle?

If I transfer files to the card using iTunes it gives me four ways/file types for exporting a playlist to an external card. Which option works with the PID? I can choose between Unicode Text, XML, M3U, and M3U8.

Micro SD cards. Mines a 16GB but I'm sure it can handle double that easily. Your third question is too techy for me so best answered by someone in the know.

i did manage to find thenew garmin pid owners manual, link https://skoda.garmin.com/skoda/site/support

Memory card slot: Micro-SD up to 32GB for Music and pictures

don't forget if you have one of the ipods or iphones with bluetooth, you can stream the music, but we find with the wifes ipod it is a bit hit and miss if it connects, so she has the music on sd card in the pid as well

also the pid doesn't support play lists, so organise your folders carefully and use them like play lists

Thanks. Are playlists *definitely* not supported? I can imagine not having them being quite an inconvenience.

we have not found a way to have play lists with music on the SD card,

unless you put all the files for each play list in its own directory

as such use the folders/ directories on the sd card as play lists

not sure if others have found a better method

I haven't tried an SD card yet as I always Bluetooth from my phone. It's so much easier for me. My iTunes library is way too big for messing around with memory cards.

Not bothered with putting a music library in the CItigo yet. I had a hard-drive in the Fabia and ended up hardly playing anything spending most of a journey dithering over what to put on. Now I just take a different CD in the car every couple of days and listen to more music than ever.
