what else can i do?

Featured Replies

i have a 4x4 and have fitted some KW coil overs, a CAI, samco pipes, FMIC, re-map, boost controller, uprated clutch, single mass lightened balanced flywheel and soon to be getting a new turbo back system fitted and wondering what else i can do other than going the whole hog and getting a BFOturbo

any suggestions?

BFO turbo!

Doesn't HAVE to be BFO though, just a nice tasty hybrid perhaps.

Haldex controller, get that 50/50 4wd.

Launch Control

BFO Turbo + running gear...tis all one needs, would be on a 28rs by now if I'd kept mine...ho hum...oh BRAKES before power, uprated pads/discs etc only just cope from comments people have made thus far, heck even I want more braking power...braking just past the 100yards board at 90 is just so wastefull of time :D

:D

been talking to a different tuner and they have suggested a GT30 rather than the GT28RS though, apparently pretty much the same turbo apart from the impellor(not sure if this is the right term, i mean the side of the turbot hat i run by the exhaust :) )has more viens so 'catches' more air and spools quicker but still has the same capacity for power up top but the power comes in sooner :)

Plenty of options...benefit of a longer spool is more usable, the map will and can change all that...but seriously brakes. the standard 4x4's were never that good ( I hear you Dutch4x4) but dry braking for *me* was never inspiring confidence. Other vRS drivers who have gone past 250 have either gone to a more agressive compound or at the very least group N discs and suitable pad.

30 28, 24 32, others non garret, there are a lot of options...my first question is can they be sourced easily....VOR could be pricey on top of a rare as hens teeth blower. I would be really wary of the haldex though.

someones got to see what the standard haldex can take though haven't though? :P

Bengie, given your proximity to me you'll have to come over for a play on the airfield ;)

*cough* looking for a venue for some simple tests actually...just 3 or 4 cars :D

drop me a PM ;)

What do you want?

More power?

Better handling?

Better Stopping?

Nicer drive?

Engine mods are quite limited now but stuff I don't think you have are:

TIP

Uprated intake manifold gasket

Water injection

Lightened pulleys

Handling mods:

Poly bushes including steering rack

ARB's

Lighter wheels

Better tyres (Goodyear F1 GSD-3's made a big difference for me)

Rear camber bars

TT front camber setup

Misc mods:

Dogbone gearbox mount

Upper gearbox mount

Weight saving

vRS bumper to improve airflow to FMIC and CAI

Braking:

Upto you really, I went for 323mm 4 pot brembos upfront and R32 256 vented at the rear. Plenty of options out there just depends how much you want to spend.

Are you still running standard 16" wheels? Lightweight 17's or 18's with 225 rubber would also be a nice upgrade.

i do want to change the wheels and *hopefully* have a vRS bumper on the way ;)

i have changed my TIP(ooo eeerrrr missus!) to a samco one :)

i have done no handling mods other than coil overs but do want to do more, might have some brakes oin the way too :D

How much has all this cost you with the insurance if you don't mind me asking? Who did you Insure with?
