  • Cheers bud We'll I'll have the 17s if you sell em

  • Nooooooo! Anyway we haven't got any old shape ones left anymore. I'm on the scout for some old wheels though lol

  • If you look for the facelift headlights they do projectors but halogen ones, apparently the genuine xenon ones are a knightmare to get working properly if you didn't have them

Looks nice mate, ive just got an e60 520d I agree about the wheels mine has 17" and still look lost,

Yeah I know! What can you do I like tinkering

So do i!

Its fun though isn't it! If i hadn't tinkered over the years i could probably be sitting in a brand spanking m3 lol

lol mine has halogens too so my first thing is headlights, zenons is the only thing that lets the spec down on mine

Mmmmmmm I'm thinking about a set of HIDs with can bus, not sure if it'll work with BMW tech though

Nice looking motor. Looks to have worn the mileage well.

Would it be possible to fit the projector headlights rather than fitting a HID kit to a reflector light unit?

Possible but costly! I needed to look into it further

Service parts from work? ;)

Chucked some halfords super brilliance bulbs in as a had a gift card and they are better, we'll see how long before they blow!

Sourced some bmw 5 spoke 17s for £130 and the swirl flap blanks are on order

Yup the halfords high performance bulbs dont seem to last

I bought a set and it set me back £50, both had blown in 6months

So went to ecp and bought 2 generic ones at £1.20 each and they are still working 2 years later

Fortunately there doing bogof

Right then swirl flaps have been done! What a pig if a job!!!! Made more difficult by being supplied with the wrong size blanks!

But at least now I don't have air leaking in and oil leaking out.

Doing this created another job though, I've found that when the exhaust manifold was done someone mullered the torch screws for the strut brace. I've had to drill the top off the bolt and will have to remove the old bolt completely oh joy

Little update

Fully serviced the other week and rear controll arm bushes changed which I tried myself but ended up giving up on!

And finally new wheels which I refurbed myself, might get some spacers for them though

Looking good! Did you enjoy changing the air filter LOL WTF is that all about :(

My air filters were up top of the engine bay under bulk head pain to do but not as bad as the swirl flaps

Aye the micro filters or whatever they are called. The main air filter though, the big cylindrical one more or less by the oil filler cap running long ways with the engine?

Did you see the pics of my swirl flaps job the other day and what I found lol glad I did it! I had the revised 32mm swirl flaps but still no where near bullet proof! Ordered both sizes as at some point during 2004 they changed them, although some folk find 22mm ones in later cars.

In which case the garage did the air filter when they did the fuel filter as I ran out of time lol!

Yeah some appear to have different sizes my swirl flaps were well and truely buggered almost at the point of falling in!!!!!

Nice car as long as you look after them and do what needs doing
