Tyre pressures of VRS wheel

Featured Replies

I fitted a loverly set of VRS wheels to my PD100 last saturday , and just wondered what the tyre pressures should be.

I am carrying around 70kg of ICE equipment in the boot BTW, and drive mainly on my own :(

Cheers.

I would think the pressures are the same as are on the inside of your fuel filler flap.

On a vRS, with a heavier engine, they would be 34 psi front, 32 psi rear. The ICE weight is only approx one adult, so should'nt need compensating for.

On the fuel flap they only have pressures for 14 and 15" wheels :(

How much heavier is the VRS engine compared to the PD100? Apart from the gearbox, I thought they were nearly the same.

I'll go for 34-32, a few PSI shouldn't make that much difference.

I also run 34 on the front and 32 on the rear,no probs so far

I was told that tyre pressures have more to do with the car's weight than wheel size. Stick with the recommended pressures for your car and you should be fine.

Same situation here, fitted a set of 16" VRS Alloy on my 1.4 16v recently. I don't like the feel of 32psi, too soft at low speed. Tried 35.5 psi, ride become harder on Motoway, but faster acceleration (might because the ECU just adapted itself for heavier wheels). I guess 34 is a save bet, but I haven't tried yet.

on my vRS I started with 34psi, and I run 35psi now on the front... I find it better... run 31 on the rear.

On the oem conti's i ran 36 psi front and rear. On the Bridgestone Potenzas, 36 is too high, to much understeer, so i have 32 in the front. Perfect now, so it depends on the tyre and how you drive too.
