53 Plate Civic Type R EP3 Nighthawk Black 91k

Featured Replies

I've owned this car since August after swapping my Fabia vrs Tdi for it. It's been absolutely faultless during my ownership!

It's a 53 plate mileage at the moment sits at just over 90,600 but it's currently in use for the next week or two. I'm selling as I've just bought an audi TT after being after one for ages! I know I've only owned it a short time but it's actually been one of the most reliable cars I've owned! No knocks bangs clunks or poor running!

I've covered about 4,000 miles in the time I've had it. I've changed the oil twice in this time (as I stepped up from 5w30 to 5w40) I used one of the best oils I could find on Opie a Fuchs fully synthetic and HAMP shortie oil filter along with a magnetic sump plug and new washer.

The aircon has been regassed and runs ice cold.

I've also changed the gearbox oil for genuine Honda MTF fluid, old box oil came out very clean so there's no concerns there. Both drain and fill plug washers were changed at the same time.

The brake fluid has been flushed out and replaced with dot 5.1 fluid, the cars running standard discs and pads front and rear and they're very impressive!

To improve the feel of the gear change I fitted Tegiwas new hybrid shifter bushes and a Skunk2 heavyweight gear knob - I believe it's the perfect combo, shifting is like cycling a rifle bolt.

I also fitted Energy Suspension engine mount inserts as the engine felt a little sloppy on its standard mounts. There's very little cabin vibrations but the feel of the car improved greatly after fitting!

Vtec kicks in just as it should, clutch is fine, no smoke on start up or running, starts first time - every time, drives nicely and on my 13 mile trip to work pootling along it gets a calculated 37mpg, usually averaging about 33mpg over a tank with mixed driving.

Always allowed to warm up before any spirited driving, had new too mounts and drop links fitted recently.

Interior is clean and tidy, had new red type r branded mats fitted last month. There's some wear to the drivers seat, a tiny hole in the side of the bolster and a little bit of stitching wear on the base - this is just cosmetic.

Brakes are good all round, front tyres nearly new same for one of the rears, however one rear tyre does have a bit of a chunk out of the sidewall done before I bought the car, I had it checked by a local garage who said it was cosmetic and not an issue. I will look into replacing it before the car is sold.

Bodywork is in good condition for its age, there's only a handful of stone chips on the front end, there is a scratch by the front bumper/wing as photographed. But overall for a 10 year old car it's pretty good!

MOT until August 2014

Tax until February 2014

Got piles of paperwork with the original books etc. Unfortunately I do only have the 1 key.

Quick snap of the paperwork I have, hopefully from this weekend onwards the car will be parked up on the drive until it goes to it's new owner (new car is having major service this week)
