Re Trim Seats

Featured Replies

Anyone any Idea how much it would cost just to re trim the seats on the base model 1.9 tdi in leather, a ballpark figure would help,

I have dark cloth coverings in my taxi, and every time people get in they put shopping  bags on the seats, when its wet they will have put there bags down many times and the muck gets on the bottom of them and then onto the seats when they get in, and I am sick of washing them, when a quick wipe with baby wipes is all that's required.

I don't want to fit seat covers as water can still get through to the seats

I would expect somebody like seat surgeons would charge around £900, probably better off finding an Elegance being broken?

Would the elegance front seats not have all the electrics for seat adjustment and heating  though,,???

Yes they would, it is easy enough to supply a 12v feed to them for the adjustment, you would loose the memory function and for the heated seats to work you would need to change the climatronic unit under the radio, but ATEOTD with them not wired up you would be no worse off than if you had yours re-covered, what you would gain though is a pair of fully adjustable (lumbar support) front seats.

Just wondering if the seats could be unbolted and transferred to the manual frames, and if the airbag wiring would have the same connectors, doing this would save on wiring the seats

The subframes are all part of the seat bases so yes it’s possible but a lot of work, what you may be able to do is to remove the motor and fit your sliding mechanism handle?

Much easier to run a pair of 12v feeds though  :giggle:

It'll probably be a lot more than £1k for a full leather interior.

I've got quotes for a few cars from different companies for cars with much smaller interiors and they're all around £1500^^

Only need the seats and rear side bolsters doing so will give them a call
