Just put a pipercross cone on..

Featured Replies

Hey guys, just put a pipercross cone on the fabia and have a few questions :)

Ive got it sat ontop and kind of inside the bottom off the standard air box, but i had to remove a vacuum hose from the top of the air box to remove it. What should i do with vacuum hose now?

And am i expecting any noise differences with the cone?

Any help appreciated :)

Does the hose come from the top of the cam cover to the air box?

Put the vac pipe through the foam or something so it's inside. If it's left to atmosphere you'll have running issues and the eml on

Ah right, i drove it for 10 mins and no eml light though.. and the hose comes from the back of the engine bay (clipped to the insulation stuff) into the top of the airbox :)

Needs to be in the filter. I drove mine for about half hour before I had problems, once it was in the filter I drove it for 6 months + with no issues

Ah spot on mate thanks :) how about the noise? Any nice noises from it? :)

What does that vac pipe do? I just fitted an s2000 filter and have the same stray pipe loose

I think it's for the VNT and EGR, goes to the N75. If it's what i'm thinking of!

Can't help with the noise though, you'll just have to go for a drive :)

Do not remove the vacuum hose

That is complete stupidity

It is the main vacuum feed for the car, it needs to be filtered air. Having no filter wont do anything to the running of the car whatsoever, but id advise you fit a small breather filter to the end of it so the vacuum feed is getting filtered air

Its not a vacuum pipe as such , it is the vent from the vacuum block it needs filtered air otherwise it will be sucking dust into the vacuum valve block which will clog it up , you could just fit a small inline fuel filter on it if you wanted

You'll get a lot of turbo noise through it I've got a ram air on my ibiza pd130 same engine, sometimes get turbo chatter on gear change too :)

There no such thing as nice noise from a filter unless you mean the growl of a V8 V12 engine now that is a nice noise.

Ah thanks guys, will create a hole in the cone and feed the vacuum pipe into it today :)

As long as people realise these do absolutely nothing for performance.

love how you have to jump in on every single cone filter thread and say the same thing every single time ha. Have you never thought people might put then on for the chatter noise they give?

Haha, just saving people time and money but I'll refrain from further ones.

I've got an s2000 filter if anyone wants one cheap it's off mine lol.

Abit like the pd160 which does feck all but people insist on buying them. I think I'm gunna go back to a cone just so I can sell my pd160 and still have £40-50 left after I've bought one of those ram air filters. Need a back box putting on first though

haha :) I didn't do mine for the power like new it wouldn't make a difference I just like the daft sucking noise lol

I done mine so it looks cool when I open the bonnet lol.

you can get s2000 filters for 12.50 off euro car parts now but they are damn ugly.

I get no chatter noice off my turbk whatsoever :(

just a tractor like tick over :)

Any other mods on the car like remap etc?
