VRS?

Featured Replies

Hiya i'm looking at swapping my 2007 PD Elegance for a Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI Vrs Cr 170, its in really good nick.

Due to budget we're looking at a 2009 version but its done £35,0000

Would you buy it? ANything to look out for?

Is that 35,000 or 350,000 miles?

Assuming 35k miles that's nothing on any car these days some might even consider it low for a diesel and a negative.

Sorry thats 35K miles. Just worried that i'm buying yet another older car, but its immaculate.

is it private or trade?

35k is low for a 4/5 year old car but not mega low, looking at just under 10k a year.

Only worries for me would be DPF and EGR issues. EGR is a simple fix normaly by cleaning it or removing/blanking it. DPF is a bit more of an issue.

If you can find out what kind of miles its done, if its all motorways and A roads then its most likely there is nothing to worry about. The kind of driving is more important than how many miles because of how the dpf works

If it's an auto the 40,000 mile gearbox oil change.

Both good bits of advice. For the DPF you could get someone with VCDS to scan it and let you know the state of the DPF via measuring blocks (ie ash level). This will tell you what sort of condition it is in.
