An unexpected photo I snapped some years ago......

Featured Replies

Probably taking him home to marinate him first or something haha. Awesome pic

That was lucky,  I have sat for ages trying to capture the salmon leaping but never seem to capture the one that leaps high enough to see the whole thing. Great photo im off to Florida in September, never been to Gatorland.

never been to Gatorland.

Well worth a visit - It's not far from the airport and is an ideal place to visit, prior to departing. It's a few years since I last visited, but seem to recall it wasn't especially expensive. More here: http://www.gatorland.com/index.shtml

We also took an Airboat ride on the final day from Boggy Creek in Kissimmee (http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g34352-d637959-Reviews-Boggy_Creek_Airboat_Rides-Kissimmee_Florida.html) - again a great way to take in the local flora / fauna.

A few of the critters we came across during our Airboat experience:

The offered / optional ear defenders are an essential!!

Keeping the thread vaguely photography related - I've just checked the exif data and see I took the photo of the "bird & fish" with a Kodak Z712 IS, F-Stop f/4.5, 1/125th second shutter speed @ 61mm.

The camera was a "Wallmart" bargain @ $75. I then remember selling it when I got back to the UK for considerably more than I'd paid for it - a definite win-win

Excellent info there it will be sure to visit. Always fancied the airboats as well but for some reason always end up in Busch gardens. This be our 4th time to Florida and still haven't done everything.

Did that too in 2004. Started the day with a trip to the Warbird museum on the 192.
