Gave skoda a wee call today to find out if my car has ever had the coil pack replaced for the recall and they confirmed it hasn't so booked in for brand new coilpack.will I notice any diffrence ? :-)

There are 4 coilpacks, one for each spark plug

If your car doesnt misfire then no you wont notice a difference

Won't notice anything if your car is running fine.

Only one?

Just after a bit of advice on this coil pack recall thing. Was not aware of it until after reading a few posts.

Is it worth contacting Skoda and how would I know if my VRS would be covered by it?

Thanks

Couldn't hurt! I need to do the same to check as mine stutters when cold.

I seem to be having this problem when cold and car is sat idle. I will be giving them a call to get this looked into and see if it has been done. Do you have to mention about the recall issue or do they usually just pick up on it straight away?

Had mine done few weeks ago guy came out afterwards and said thats been played with hasnt it I kept quite incase they didnt do them but they changed all 4

once mines was done they marked it in the service booklet and also gave me a recipet

I've just spoken to Lightcliffe Warrington and they have told me they would not be able to see whether it has been done as the car was not from there? The guy did not seem very interested in all honest. Does anyone recommend a Skoda dealer around the Warrington area to try? Or should I try my luck of calling again or popping into the Garage?

The guy u spoke to obv was a lazy arse or a apprentice mate.what to do is phone another local skoda garage or even just take the car in and ask them they can check it in 2mins mate

Will pop down on saturday as will be going past and get them to check it. he seemed like he did not understand what i was saying as kept saying i need to go back to the original dealer.

Am I right in chipping in that you'll only get the replacements fitted for the original packs? Mine was eligible, but after I had one fail on me I checked and all the others had been replaced already by a previous owner.

If they are OEM supplied and of course not the models which are 'ok' i.e. end in D or R they should be changed IIRC.

You can check yourself easily.
