Which Meerkat wants to GoCompare my MoneySupermarket.com

Featured Replies

My insurance is up on the 14th Feb and I am hoping that I can give my business to a Briskie sponsor.  Must be modification friendly, the more flexibility on this the better

I am currently with Admiral who in fairness I am not unhappy with and so far have covered all my mods, a little bit about my car is in my signature.

Please feel free to get in touch.

sure can

I saved money using a sponsor insurer (they sponsor here and on another site), it was cheaper than all the Meercats and annoying fat men and I can pretty much do what I want mod wise as long as I don't exceed a certain power.

I spoke to a few of them as I ummed and arrred about different cars, all much better to speak to than the main stream insurers. You'll not regret switching to a proper insurance provider :)

I renewed again with quote me happy, an indian cheap insurer that make you do all the work, but fully comp on a MK 2 Fabia VRS for me and the wife for less than £200 can't be bad.

Good luck with the minefield that is insurance, I think they have a big red button in front of them, when you call they ask all the questions and then just press the button, after a few seconds a random figure is produced and this is your premium.  :wonder:

Well, just an update for anyone wondering whether it's worthwhile speaking to our forum sponsors.

My renewal last year with Admiral was around £450.00 on a stock Mk2 Fabia vRS

This year I have modified my car lightly

Lowered, RARB, ITG Air Filter and an APR Stage I map, at the time of adding these to my policy the payments were actually negligible and i had high hope for a good renewal price from Admiral as I would have a further years NCB.

They did not deliver asking for over £1,000 to renew.  biggest quote I've had in years.

I spoke to Sky, AF and CKI, each one of them beat that quote and came in over half the cost.

It looks like CKI have come in the best and speaking to Paul there I am really happy with the ease of dealing with them and the selected company to actually insure with is someone I am very comfortable with.  So much so I am looking to give CKI SWMBO's non-modified Yaris to insure also.

So in the end, I will pay less than last year, have all mods covered like for like, have good scope via the new insurer to conduct further mods (braked upgrade already incorporated into the renewal :) )

Can't praise our sponsors enough, they were all helpful and a cut above the "larger" insurance companies to deal with.

One very happy Forum Member.

P.S

and for anyone interested I'm 32, have 4 years NCB, one SP30 gained last year doing a hospital run the week my son was born  , so no great or different special circumstances.

Pretty much mirrors my experience with Greenlight on my Celica. Cheaper than the majors (Esure were cheapest on a standard car @ £550, GL on a modded car £475), any mods allowed (I'm not allowed to go beyond 180bhp... which ain't going to happen without a charger anyway which I'm not going to do), and a pleasure to deal with.

I'm not going back to 'normal' insurance companies. I too am going to see what they can do for the GFs Yaris... may need to mod it a little. My original mods list to GL was only HIDs and a brace, so shouldn't need much :)

I'm now wishing I'd made the switch earlier and done some bits to my Cordoba :(

I tried most of the site sponsers in January, and unfortunately none of them were really competitive. Maybe because I'm 21 with 3 points? Will keep trying though each year. Especially as they did seen nicer to deal with than the current insurer I'm now with.
