Door seals.......best place to buy?

Featured Replies

Got a whistling noise coming from rear drivers side and I'm assuming it's the door seal. It's irritating to say the least, anyone recommend anywhere to get them or is it a dealer jobbie?

Cheers

Probably dealer only, due to the type of part.

Any build thread?

Wanting a system in mine eventually, 2 12's more than likely. Be interested to see more systems in mk2's

ive never made one tbh mate. Not taken any pics of building it as its never finished. Ive gone from one 12, 2 12's, one 15 and loads of different boxes too so never did a build thread of it

i wonder if anyone has made an after market double seal. This is one reason the octavias are louder than passats and a3's due to them only using a single seal

Hummm, interesting.

The one and only frustrating thing about my car is the wind noise. I've done the "squirting flexible gasket around the rear quarter-lights" and that lowered the noise slightly.

It then went back to the dealers and the wind noise from the front passenger side was reduced, but when diving there is still noise there. My car runs out of warranty in April this year, so I guess I've still got time to try and get them to solve this.

But wonder how difficult it would be to "make" a double seal?

I've not tried any other aspect to try and get rid of the bloody noise. I'll go for the door seal first as it's definitely coming from there at the min.

  • 1 year later...

Hi I know this was last year but did you sort this with a new seal ? I've got this problem on my rear passenger vrs

Thanks

Matt
