Featured Replies

hi all just replaced my breathers with silicone ones and all i can say is jesus power has been restored  was driving round my town then i spot 2 fiesta st`s playing so i thought id follow and sit back then i thought **** it planted my foot down and showed the 2 ltr cars wat a 1.8t is all about lol

ha ha fair play

Is there really that much of a difference just by replacing the pipes?? what was the cost?

i lost power because of the split hoses the silicones i got were 24 quid each not the car is soo much better pulls hard

Just did my S pipe (kids in bed so I can play in the garage) and did my Y pipe 2 months ago and I'll agree a massive difference in performance, both had split.

S pipe split was behind a strap but found it in the end last week as braking and performance were poorish.

S pipe is silicone but I replaced the Y with a normal one as I never thought about a silicone one at the time.

ebay mate

I got all mine from ebay too. If i knew at the time i could of deleted and simplified it i would of done

Will have to have a look at this as I may need new pipes because my engine light is on due to running rich on bank 1 or something. Can't remember the code but think it maybe due to a split pipe somewhere. Going hunting with my easy start!!

ebay mate

you got the ebay link please bud? :hi:

Regards

Thats the same pipe (top breather) that has split on mine, I've not had the car long and have been experiencing pretty crap idle and some questionable running issues, hopefully this will fix it, should both of these be changed at the same time?

sorry for the newb thread hijack  cheers for the link  :)

I had a quick look at all these pipes at the weekend, I'm sure that pipe is metal on my car

Just waiting for the lower one to pitch up, got the silicon from creation, the stock one was in a hell of a mess, completely split and crumbling, tried a quick repair but was so bad that it couldn't even hold it's shape. Weirdly though the small nipple on the inlet manifold it connects to seems to have come out of it's hole, suppose a bit of plastic steel and order a new inlet manifold- sigh

cant you drill out the nipple housing and thread it and get a screw in nipple?

Never a fan of drilling and tapping inlet manifolds. Bit of metal from the drill or tap goes through the engine and into the hot side of the turbo and a bang. It's all sorted now though, in all honesty I wish I just bought some stretchy vac line, would have done the same job as that 20 piece for 2 quid
