Try disconnecting the battery on the car for half an hour. Then try again.

Cleaning Veritate wheels

The Veritate wheels on my Superb have limited access between the spokes, so cleaning the barrel and behind the spokes is a chore but possible with the right selection of brushes and woolies. BUT ... the numbnuts that designed the wheel added a 'gutter' around the barrel just behind the spokes. It collects a pool of rainwater when parked and is a magnet for brake dust and tar. Getting into the gutter to clean it is almost impossible - I can't even reach it all with my fingertips and a wheel mi

Skoda Fabia mk2 Greenline Decided to replace the original very tired rear shock absorbers . Ordered 2 new ones off ebay , ebay said they'll fit . Got the first old one off surprisingly easy and lo & behold the new ones are longer , by about 3 cm I'd say . They look as though they'll still fit ( presume they are from the standard Fabia ) , but would they be ok to use ? Bearing in mind its just a commuter car , so not worried about performance handling ! Thanks for any advice

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here has come across this exact issue, because after 7 months and multiple visits, neither my dealer nor Škoda’s technical support has been able to identify the cause. Car: Škoda Superb Sportline, 2021, 200kW Problem: When braking, the side sensors intermittently trigger a warning that there is an obstacle very close to the car — even though there is nothing there. Superb L&K - May, 2026 After driving in the rain and using the wipers for a while, I’ve noticed two strange things: Once the rain stops and the wipers stop running, a hazy/milky-looking area appears along the lower part of the windshield (on the outside). It looks almost like fog, but it’s definitely on the exterior. If I run the wipers again, it disappears, but after they stop, it gradually comes back, then fades away on its own after a few minutes.
