Odd: indicators sometimes stick on after I've plipped my car to lock it

Featured Replies

Informative title as above hopefully! I fell foul of this a couple of days after getting the car. I plipped it to lock it, walked away and thought nothing of it. Came back in the morning and the battery was flat as a f@rt.

It doesn't do it all the time and doesn't affect the use of indicators when driving around. Just when you plip to lock, all N/S indicators/repeater stick on. You click the buttons on the fob a few times and they will come off after a few presses.

Anyone had this happen before? Common to Octavias or across Skodas? It's an 04 plate. Not a massive issue as I try and remember to check before I walk away. A cheap fix would be useful and one thing less to worry about. I might just code it out using VCDS and have the horn sound upon locking instead of indicators.

Cheers.

Apologies, but someone seems to have stolen my ability to start new paragraphs, hence the massive block of text?! :(

Only way it'll make a noise is if you have a factory alarm fitted, otherwise silence

Seems like a sticky relay issue, but I would of thought that the same issue would crop up now and then when you're indicating aswell

Change your hazzard light switch that should fix the problem as it has a relay in it and common to stick

If you can wait a week pm me your address and I'll post you the spare I have in the house.

Wow, thanks for the offer of your spare hazard switch. I'll prod mine a few times over the next few days to see if it still does the same thing. If it does, I'll drop you a line to take you up on your kindness. Bloody glad I became a Freedom member. :)
