So let me get this straight....no one will insure you because you are "unemployed" (shocking that they can do this) so that would mean that everyone driving around with insurance for a car must be "employed", surely that cannot be the case!!! There must be shed loads of people driving who are uneployed?

I was thinking, Occupation " Stud "  and car a Monte Carlo

  • Adrian flux are telling you a load of crap. Plenty of places will still insure you when you are unemployed. Use one of the comparison sights as a starting point

Has anyone mentioned Brentacre Insurance? They do mods, but not sure about unemployed status. Give them a call and good luck

No kit its not just the unemployed, its a combination of unemployed and outstanding claim/claim in last 12 months.

So far it seems like the ones willing to ignore the outstanding claim and the mods dont like the unemployed bit.

Got a couple more companies to phone round but best quote out of the two i have had so far is for £2500 which is big jump from £600 i paid last year.

Apart from that its getting a part time job which i may have found, or my insurance has said i can have the claim closed as it is 50/50 at the mo but then it means i accept full blame when it wasnt even my fault.

(If your ever in an accident no matter where it is flag cars down as a witness).

I know its a bit late but have you considered a student status? Perhaps enroll at a local college but develop a bad habit of not turning up. A student is presumably considered different to unemployed risk wise. Im not one for twisting truths on insurance but the route of getting someone else insured and you named as suggested by others is 100% illegal and quite well monitored as it was how a lot of new drivers got insured without selling organs. Their parent would be the main driver and them named; however main driver means just that, you must be the main person to drive the car.

So thankyou Dan, just hate that everythings based on statistics and apparently unemployed people do more miles.

which is funny because ive gone from doing a 56 mile a day round trip for work to maybe 56 miles a week lol.

Beggars belief.

Where do they get these stats from?

Lack of money = tightening of belt and reining in spending, or am I missing a trick here?

There again, absolutely NOTHING suprises me about these leeches. :@

Glad you got some sort of satisfaction Richard, and good luck job hunting.

P'raps they'll do a reduction and refund when you get back into employment?

Yes they will, i have to pay the usual mid term change fee but basically any job is an improvement on unemployed so what they pay me back would be more than the original fee.
