Seat removal-making airbag safe

Featured Replies

I am considering changing the front seats in my Octavia.

I am aware that it is essential to disconnect the battery before disconnecting the connector plugs for the airbags.

However this may cause issues with resetting some items on reconnection.

I have successfully used a code saver device recently when disconnecting the battery for some other work.

So, my question is, will using the code saver device in the lighter socket be suitable to make disconnecting the airbages connections  safe or will they still be "armed"?

Thanks in advance

No need at all to disconnect batteries to disconnect airbags. (No harm in doing so though).

Remove seats, no whatever, leave ignition off, plug seats back in, switch ignition on, airbag light should stay out.

didnt think they had airbags. or is that just the vrs?

VRS doesn't have airbags in the seats.

I still think it's weird that the vRS is missing so many 'extras' over the other models

Not really considering they're usually based on the lower spec SE
