Engine Cover Badge

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Does anybody know where I can get some more of these black Skoda badges?? Done a reasonable amount of digging and cant seem to find them anywhere!

That's a PD engine, the badge should be green on the cover. Maybe that ones been 'de-greened' in some way, like Ford owners make the blue oval red? Just a guess.

Either way, it's not the new style, which is in fact the old style, badge.

The engine badge the OP posted is actually quite popular. I think it was GRR666 who had them fitted on the front grill and on the rear boot where the existing skoda badges are. :)

This is exactly what I want to do!

Cheers for the info chaps, Is this a standard badge for the Fab VRS engine cover then?

My Fab VRS is a 55 plate, is the asz engine and was completely standard when I picked it up so cant imagine it was changed by the previous owner.

It's a standard part, no idea why some are black and some aren't though.

Ta' very much mate!

Mine's black. I very much doubt the previous owner modded mine.... he was a 60 odd year old Doctor apparently.

Mines black as well, 06 plate model. Think it looks better specially with black engine bay caps.

My 05 has black badge also.

A3!?! How very dare you.

Yes I had them on the front and rear , (after heating them and bending a curve into them)

They were about £8 each from Skoda main dealer. IIRC the black badges were on the later ones.

The 54 vRS I had had a coloured badge on the engine cover.

They were quite a pig to fettle but looked good once I'd made the effort.

pre and post facelift seems to be where the change was.

Cost cutting was probably the reason. Black badges must have been

cheaper to produce. It took a while for all the facelift changes to

come about. I guess they had to use up all their stock of the older parts.

My Fabias were both 54 reg but neither had all of the facelift changes.

My vRS has the older style dashboard but the newer style lights for example.

But both my Fabias had the coloured engine cover badges though despite the

different engines in the two cars.
