Featured Replies

Well me n the mrs had a nyt off from the kids so decided to go a wee cruise just around glasgow Motherwell n Hamilton n wow had a few short blast of the vrs obv on safe an clear patches of road and must say it feels so so quick I have had numours cars in the past which were fast like my subaru wrx wagon and clio 171 cup but this just feels so so much faster the speed picks up really quick and the boost kicks in real hard I have never had it on the rollers but I defo recon it's been mapped BUT wat I really need to get rid of ASAP is the stupit dump valve that is on it sometimes while driving when coming of throttle then straight back on the dump valve seemed to be dumping while I was in mid throttle weird but anyway I really need the standard on back on it and a decent cai.but anyways car feels really good and plenty of power so happy days just thought is share it lolol

Sorry, I couldn't read more than a few words of that, but glad you had a good night and enjoy the car.

Right are they pics any good guys so how would I fit the diverter valve onto this current set up.if someone could edit these pics for me at all and put like arrows or something to were the bits n boba go if that makes sense?lol am hard work Ano guys lol

Remove that cap and the DV goes in there, the other end of the DV goes on your blue pipe. Only issue is wheres the DV's vac pipe

  • Author

Would I just use the vac pipe that the current dump valve is using?

Yes

The first pic looks like a atmospheric dv which these cars do not like running with and probably why you are getting the issue.

Your second pic is where the original dv will fit and currently has a blank fitted.

So if I were you I would defo get a proper recirculating dv and plumb it back up. Can post some pics on how a sts dv is fitted if needed.

thanks bowders can you post some pics up of how to do this.yeah ano these cars shouldn't run a atmospheric DV but when I got the at it had one on it which I am really wanting to take off but already buying one from a member so I will fit it ASAP.

Would I notice any difference in power with that std dv fitted? Am I losing power with the atmospheric?

Yes your loosing power and experiencing running issues!

Leave the atmospheric valves for the boy racers who like to fudge up their cars

You want a forge 007p recirc valve on

ok that's good to know at least I will be getting a standard one on it .tbh jase if I had enuff fund I would buy the forge one. But it's after Xmas new year etc so not got a lot of money to be spending on the car tbh.next thing on my list is a cai and that will do until I have more cash

The standard DV will make enough noise with that double filter thing you have on

The std dv is more than capable buddy. New they are around £30. Also the recent ones has a stronger internal diaphragm in them and actually are the best proven none leaking dv over any aftermarket. I only went forge for using a stronger spring for my mapping and forge ones allow using different spring rates. The shiny part is just a added bonus...
