Google Maps Audio when connected via bluetooth

Featured Replies

As I do not have the need for a satnav frequently and when I do I like to have access to live traffic updates I make use of the Google Maps app on my phone.  The issue I have is that the phone is connected up to the car via bluetooth, but I will have the radio playing or music via the MDI generally rather than from the phone, because of this the voice guidance from the phone seems to be trying to play via bluetooth although nothing coming from the car.  I would like it to come from the phone direct without disabling bluetooth entirely.

Is it possible to set the Google Maps app to use the phone speaker for audio but maintain the bluetooth connection for calls?  I can't find anything obvious within the general or app settings.

It is playing, but you only get it if media is selected.

I presume it is playing.  There is a headset symbol showing in the corner when I have it in the car.  When I try it out of the car I get audio from it no issues.

I did have this with a on older version of Android on my S2 but managed to select it to the phone speakers, I did have a proper Samsung dock for that phone though which put it into dock mode.  Not sure if the Nexus 5 has that feature.
