Alloys... will they fit?

Featured Replies

Ok, I'm looking at some new alloys and I think I'm pushing the boundaries a bit too much, but before I say no, I thought I'd ask you guys on what you think...

"Existing" are the standard spiders and "New" are the alloys I'm looking at, which are as follows:

Rims: 8x18 5X100 ET35

Tyres: 225/40/R18/89W

Result:

All of that, *plus* I want to drop it 40 - 50mm on coilies. Do you reckon I'll get away with it, or will I be rubbing like a female dog?

Cheers B)

You'll be fine, mine was lower on the same spec wheels.

Awesome.

Do you reckon spacers would be needed at all?

you use spacers to make the wheel go further out, why would you want to do that?

people usually use spacers when their new brake setup doesnt fit under current wheels.  If you use spacers your ET will decrease, 10mm spacers will mean your new ET is 25, etc.

Oh I know that, I was just concerned about the inner rim being closer to the suspension strut. That's what was worrying me the most.

Et35

8x18

225/40/18 will fly on mate :)

9.7mm closer to the strut is nothing to worry about.  I would imagine as standard the gap is a good 50mm+ anyway.

Lowered :)

Its actually bonnet badges

I shaved lugs of

Then bedded them on black sealant so was like a washer there due to the arch of the badge ( my more creative patient days ) lol

Thanks all, been a great help.

Now I just need to start saving :)

If it helps my 9.5 rears are a et35 and a neg camber of 2.5

So that shows the rears will clear :D

Should settle ur mind

And my 8.5 et35 front had to be spaced 5mm to a et30

You'll be fine bud with 8x18 et35 honestly :)
