This morning, with the help of another member of this forum, Joe, who owns a VCDS, we successfully changed a number of functions on my Octavia III Elegance Estate, as listed in Octavia III VCDS Adaptations -tried and tested.

 

We changed the remote boot opening, needle sweep, fan speed display and mirror dip on reverse.

 

Can the amount of dip be altered?

 

We also attempted to enable fuel quantity in maxidot, but then came unstuck

 

Joe's comments:

  On the fuel quantity change, I completed the first few steps that are listed:-

 

"Controller 17 - Instruments

07 - Coding

Byte 10

Enable Bit 4

I had to do this manually on mine by editing the binary, I didn't have a tick box for bit 4."

 

It looked like it does in the linked picture for byte 10 http://www.briskoda....-1388423394.png

 

Then from there I clicked exit and then "Do it" to save the change, but it gave a message saying I hadn't made any changes, and it didn't save anything.

 

What are we doing wrong?

 

Also any news when problems with enabling rain closing will be resolved?

After manually changing the Binary code use the shift button to move the curser from the Byte you are in to the next Byte, this will then save the change, then you can exit as usual

Well I never thought to do that! This was the first time I've used VCDS to make changes but hey now I know. Cheers.

Rain closing is a limitation of VCDS, if you have VCP the RLS can be coded, but with VCDS it can't be.

 

Just needs byte 0 bit 2 of the RLS enabling and then it will work.

Don't really understand why rain closing not enabled as standard? It did work on my old VRS.....

 

Mirror dip on reverse without memory seats isn't much good (not enough dip!), Has anyone found a value to change this?

 

Otherwise very pleased with the remote boot closing, makes it much easier when unloading heavy items.
