Damaged disc?

Featured Replies

Hi guys (n gals)

I've just got some 312mm brake upgrade but it seems on closer inspection the discs have been marked in transit :( they have a few chips out of them. Is this going it be a problem or can I still use them?

Cheers

Mike

Where are the chips?

Jon,

on the disc surface towards the top of the disc. I think it's where parcel force has dropped the box!

You can get a new set of disks for

kinda what I was thinking mate :(

I'll wait the reply from steve about the disc (this is not his fault they have been damaged in transit for sure). I'll buy some new disc and take it from there

I would pursue PF for the damage, I am sure Steve sends them with insurance.

Can you post a pic??

Stu,

I will try and get one sorted tomorrow (pic) as I'm on my hols at the mo :D

I've had a look on the website and they seem to insure all their goods upto a value of 600euros, which should more than enough to cover it.

I think steve must be away as well as I've not heard from him, I'll try his mobile tomorrow maybe.

Mine had some small marks on them, but nothing serious. In fact a couple of them were out the end, and thought they may have been done at the point of manufacture? Maybe they balance the discs before sending to joe public?

Aside from that mine only have the small surface wear that comes with delivery miles.

Edit: I think Steve is away - remember his saying and I think I said the same to someone else who'd paid and not seen the discs/calipers yet. I think the bloke needs a break from all the hassling Briskodians and Ebayers.

Mike

The discs are balanced rotors and therefore you can't really aford any damage but if it's just a small mark then I'm sure it will be ok.

to be fair then look abit deeper in real life than they do in the picture

I would say not the end of the world to be honest but if Steve is gonna sort you out then all the better. I'm sure PF should be held responsible.

Dress the marks with some fine Emery cloth.

On another subject can you confirm for the RR day - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?p=397175#post397175
