Swiftcover Insurance

Featured Replies

Afternoon, anyone had any experience with swiftcover car insurance? My insurance is due in a couple of weeks but most firms are quoting silly money for my insurance. I'm 24 with 4 years no claims, 3 points for speeding (2 years old now) driving a Octavia VRS mk1?

Could we not help you dan?

I used them to insure three cars for a while, a Merc CLK, a Focus and a 1996 Range Rover, prices were great, we made no claims. Changed Rangie for a 2003 Disco, all great for first year then they announced they weren't doing Discos any more so could I please take my custom elsewhere!

Disco gone & I'm now with Hastings. I waited 'till I was 25, 30, 35 for cheap premiums and it happened when I hit 60, I expect it'll go up again as I get gaga.

If the price is right take it and look for a new deal every year, insurers have no loyalty so why should you.

I used them for a few years.

Good service and claims were speedily sorted too.

Cheers for quick responses. A few companies won't even quote me for the car, because of my age and the points. Swiftcover and premium choice have come out cheapest on all comparisons.

You're too polite.

Used Swift a few years ago.

Found them to be the most competitive by miles, and service was good on the couple of occasions I had cause to actually ring them.

Currently got the Octavia with them as they were best by miles. Everything very prompt and polite.

I was with them for a year about 4 years ago on a fully Comprehensive policy for my twin cam petrol Fab.

Price was good. The online documentation worked flawlessly. Had no need to call customer service, so can't say what they were like.

And then suddenly, the next year, without there being any claims on my part, they jacked-up the price horrendously (This happened to coincide with their "Doggy" national advertising campaign).

They weren't prepared to negotiate on price - I presume that, either I had transited over some sort of threshold and/or at that time,  they were no longer interested in the "Near OAP, limited means" market segment to which I belong and were after the dosh of younger clientele.

So I told them to "Do one" and changed provider.

I've contacted both Chris Knott and Sky insurance and there alot cheaper with mods declared. Chris Knott are quoting £30 more than Sky. Any preference on which is the better of the 2 companies?

It's quite simply...a money pit minefield, they know it, and they're loving it.

All snuffling from the same pig trough.
