Strange Brakes

Featured Replies

HI peeps

As some of you might know i had an issue with the tyre infllation light, traction control and ABS lights illuminating on the dash. Thankfully it wasnt the Teves fault but a faulty rear ABS sensor. I've had that replaced but i now have a different brake problem. When i apply the brakes the car starts to slow, then, theres is abit of a clunk and the brakes start to apply abit harder (By themselves) without pressing the pedal any harder. Does this sound like it could be a sticky piston in the caliper? it doesnt do it all the time and the ABS and traction control work fine since replacing the sensor so i dont think its related to that.

Any ideas?

Cheers guys

I would start by taking the pads out.

Quite common for them to stick in the carriers and need a clean and re-grease with some copper grease.
