thanks very much Dara85 that sorted now i know all i need it 312mm disks and carrires i use my capilers

Thanks

Ooooo. Never knew you only need carriers. .. my discs are getting low ;)

The fabia calipers are different. You need both.

It's the mk4 golf, leon, a3 ect that only need the carriers.

Ahhh I see. Back to saving up haha

This is what this link says

UPGRADES

Front

The easiest upgrade of all is the 288mm to 312mm front setup. All this requires is 312mm Carriers and Discs(splash guards if you want, but they are not essential)

owners of cars with the 288/312mm setup can also upgrade their calipers from 54mm to 57mm ones. not sure what model in the VAG range the calipers come from, but they are identical apart from the extra piston size

Look up the fabia-vrs site link on here.

it tells you what you need and how to do it.

A cheap solution, Breakers yard / scrap yard. Calipers and Carriers and just buy new disc's and pads. Happy days

Fabia vrs calipers don't fit 312 carriers, you should be looking for these.

you won't find it either as it's been down for ages now. IIRC someone on here was looking to take it over but I don't know what became of that plan.

There's a lot of great info regarding brake upgrades, especially 312mm conversions. I'm getting all the bits together to do a swop(288-312). When I was checking to see if the new calipers fit, I noticed that the brake pipe fitted in a slightly different place, which being a different make I would expect. My question is,people say about it being quite a straight forward job, do the brake pipes fit straight on the 312mm calipers from the 288mm brakes ?  Maybe it is so straight forward that it doesn't need saying, but don't want to get everything on then cannot plumb the brake pipe back in . Thanks.

Pipes fit fine ;)

Rob beat me to it Clive.

Pipes are fine, been too busy today to reply to your PM

Thanks for the info.  No probs Barrie.
