If i was getting that jacked around i'd just ask for my deposit back and buy something else. I dont think an Octavia is worth a 6-12 month wait as some people are being expected to put up with.

I have just put my order in today for the Octavia III vRS estate in race blue, with a few toys on it. All the dealers have quoted lead times of 22 weeks at this time, so I suspect to see mine in about June time all being well.

Id say that they would be obliged if they cant build and deliver the car in what you would consider to be an acceptable timeframe.....i'd say waiting 6-12 months generally for a new car is not acceptable. if the dealer wouldnt budge im sure a quick call and rant at SUK would resolve the issue of returning a deposit.

Otherwise if you want the car, you wait and put up with it I guess. I wouldnt be that desperate for a vRS to wait 6+ months for one to be built myself but we're all different.

How hard is it to cancel and get your deposit back? I only left a £200 deposit incase the wait got silly and I saw another attractive deal for a different car elsewhere.

Is that just from the dealers or form SUK too?

 

The dealer's were unable to give me an update on mine - even showed me the computer system - nothing there

Phoned SUK, and got provisional bw8 (Feb 16th)

Just thought I would throw my 2p in!

 

I ordered a VRS TDi on the 23rd of November (no unusual options), aiming for an early March registration (to get a 14 plate). Rang the dealer today for an update as I hadn't heard anything, and was told that I have been given a delivery date of late April. Apparently Skoda drastically underestimated the demand on the VRS and one of the pinch points is the lane assist. I was also told that they have taken off the 0% finance and free servicing which along with the price increase over new year which was slowed demand temporarily.

 

He did say that the build week will only come forward from that though so I can hope!!

Ordered my VRS estate 24th November and 2 weeks later was given a provisional build week 7. This has been put back to build week 9 but still provisional. The dealer told me it would be between 16-20 weeks which would mean delivery between mid March and mid April. Not to worried about the wait. I got a great deal and am really looking forward to its arrival. No other cars out there that compete at the price along with 0% APR and 3 years servicing IMO.

It's a complete world wide shortage. vRS usually accounts for between 20-30% of all Octavia orders...currently it's running about 50% of all Octavia orders worldwide..... the factory can only build so many a week

Ordered tsi vrs estate 7th November. Build week 15 then 14, down to 12 over Christmas.Two weeks ago week 8 starting to get interested. Today no build date. Not a happy Skoda owner. Only thankful I got an agreed trade in price on my current car.

Ordered Vrs estate petrol 1st Week of November with estimate Jan/Feb. last month it was provisional wk 12. been today and now at wk 21 but could come down........
