MK2 2012 facelift

Featured Replies

Okay guys, I'm either getting old and senile or just being stupid lately, but what is the difference between a pre-facelft and facelift bonnet???

The wife had a 2007 Roomie (now a 2013 Yeti) and I've got a 2012 Monte and when they were side but side I could see any noticable diifferences between the bonnets, this is starting to drive me mad as I can find pre-facelift S2000 bonnets but no facelift ones (or do they exist?)

The bonnets must be different as I know the bonnet latch is in a different place on the 2 mk2's I have.

Look harder, the differences are small, but are there...

Just enough so you cant use one on the other i bet

Is it a proper S2000 vented bonnet for a Mk2 Fabia you are after like 32KOFTA managed to buy.

Have you looked in his Build Thread?

I have pinched his pictures, 'Again'.

Yes it's the proper Super2000 bonnet that you've mentioned and thats what confusing me visually there isn't anything different from them and a pre-facelift (unless both of the cars are prefacelift?) If I manage to get the right one then the issue with water and the electrics may rear it's ugly head.

First major difference is around the headlights. Pre-facelift (evo 1) is more rounded than facelift (evo2 & 3) which is more angular.

Second the front part where the badge sits on the evo1 is shorter smaller when on the evo2 is wider and finally the nerve that runs from the badge all the way to the back is again wider on the evo2 and more angular.

It is indeed hard to tell the differences. As for water running inside the car is not an issue which is surprising.

Face-lift S2000 bonnets exist but used ones are hard to get because they are still in use. Pre-facelifts are easier to find because rally teams don't have use for them since the Fabia is at EVO3 stage - that is why they are also cheaper.
