Black gunk in exhaust trims

Featured Replies

My bikes carbed and that doesnt get any gunk in it. When you do get unburnt fuel in the exhaust, doesnt it ignite in the exhaust and cause it to pop?

Ever heard a vRS with an Aftermarket Exhaust, popping and farting merrily as it goes down the road :)

Also, just slightly off topic, if CAVE and CTHE run different maps, is this true of cars that have had their software updated at service?

Also makes you wonder what my APR map is originally based on, CAVE or new CTHE map.

My car seemingly decided to sup a bit of oil one very cold week doing quite a few stop start journeys but has returned to normal service.  Truly bizarre little motor, but I love it.

It really is a bizarre little motor!

Pure love for it now that I see the oil consumption as a characteristic and not a flaw of the engine.

When my commute is traffic logged, she uses oil (not much, around a litre per 2000 miles)

If Skoda had explained to Dealerships the issues,

and then the Dealership Technicians explained to the Salespeople to explain to Customers the issues and the need to check the oil use correctly,

then there would be lots less hassle.

Rubbish Owners Manual & Translation to English from Skoda, (VW Manuals for the same Engines are written/translated differently.)

& a ridiculous Dipstick used on the car and the Hot Dip procedure.

It would be so easy for Skoda/VAG to have made all the trouble far less by being open and honest, and helpful to Buyers & Owners.

Some cars reported as High Oil Users have no Engine Faults, just issues that could have been resolved if the Dealership had some staff around

with the common sense they were born with,

& Skoda UK dealt with English Speaking Customers in the language they might understand.

& Honesty.
