Radiator fan switch (temp sensor)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

With regards to a 1.9 Skoda Octavia SDi 2001 model.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to tighten the radiator fan switch without having to remove the radiator itself?  Also, can someone confirm the size socket required for this?

I recently replaced the radiator, and since then the fan switch has been leaking slightly, I don't want to go to the effort of removing the radiator just to tighten the switch a little.

Thanks a lot.

is it the one at the bottom of rad right hand side 30 m socket

It needs to be quite tight - 35Nm.

Hi yes it's the one on the radiator, thank you for confirming the size socket required.

Any suggestions about tightening without removing the radiator? Will a 30mm deep socket work?

no need for rad to come out can be done in place

Use a deep/box socket. It will just clear the radiator shroud.
