Yeti / Tiguan parts

Featured Replies

Hello,

Can anyone definatively say if :

1. A 2008 Tiguan rear subrame off a 4motion part number 5N0 505 235L    will fit a 2012 Yeti  4x4 with part number 5N0 505 235Q?  The only difference being the last 2 letters  ( L & Q )

2. A 2008 Tiguan rear driveshaft code part number 1K0 501 204D     will fit a 2012 Yeti 4x4 with part number 3C0 501 204F  ( Again apart from the first 3 digits which identify the car the only difference

is the last letters ( D& F )

I cannot for the life of me believe that VAG would not have these a parts common to both vehicles but my partsbase checker says that they are not compatible.

Does anyone have ETKA that they could check for sure ?

Thanks

Does this help?

Sadly my copy of ETKA (7.3) is now out of date and  (7.4) hasn't appeared at the right price yet!

Hi Merlinman,

Thanks for the reply.

I dont think it does help---I have access to www.partsbase.org which if anything is more user friendly than the one you have posted ---------but thanks all the same.---its much appreciated.

I think I need the help of someone with an up to date ETKA.

IS THERE ANYONE OUT THEE THAT CAN HELP ?---There must be someone on the forum with an up to date ETKA ?

Come on guys --help please. My car is in bits and I need to source parts.

Different part obviously, but I remember looking for a replacement tandem pump for the PD130 in my Passat; plenty on Ebay from lots of VAG cars that shared the same basic part number, but with a different letter suffix.

I assumed they'd all be interchangeable as the same basic number was the same, but I think there were some noticeable differences - IIRC the hose outlets etc were in different places/angles, they used different types of gasket to cyl head etc.

So I wouldn't make the assumption that they are the same.

Thanks Muddyboots

Can't see VAG developing a different driveshaft for each of its cars that share the same platform ie : Tiguan,Golf, Octavia, Leon,Audi A3 , Audi TT etc (PQ35 platform)
i appreciate that some are not 4 motion options but its the same subframe and rear suspension set up and VAG would want to make as much use of common parts

as possible to make efficency savings.

Thats why I need someone with ETKA to confirm.----CAN ANYONE WITH ETKA PLEASE HELP CLEAR THIS UP ?

thanks

Let's be quite honest here. The Yeti is a fairly new car, for many owners still under warranty, so there are likely to very few people "tinkering" with them. Therefore I also suspect very few people will have an up-to-date copy of ETKA, so shouting (use of capitals) is probably not going to get a result.

You can buy copies of ETKA on the web, so perhaps you will have to go down that route.

And I'm intrigued why you need these parts.

Thanks 33q for the positive contribution.

Not going to rise to the other comments.

If there is anyone out there with an up to date ETKA ( maybe someone who works for VAG )   Perhaps you would be good enough to clarify.

Thanks very much.

And another thought.

You haven't said where you are in Wales, but have you thought of trying one of the VAG specialists, one of which at least is situated in South Wales, to see if they can help?

Still intrigued as to why you need these parts.

Hi 33q,

Interestingly, the driveshafts on the one you posted have either been removed or it was originally a 2wd version as they share the same rear subframe with

just the 4x4 components left off  the 2wd model.

Still hoping someone can clarify the original post by using an up to date ETKA ?

Thanks
