Interested in Driving Style v MPG of other users

Featured Replies

170 4x4 done 26000 miles averaged 42mpg calculated properly. Mixed driving, quite a few short runs. I don't push too hard but keep to speed limits including satnav 70 (equals speedo 74) on motorways. Maxidot is way optimistic compared with real figures.

That's remapped ?

Encouraging to hear I might be able to coax some reasonable figures out of one then.

Yes, it's on 30k miles now.

I ran a DTUK 2 channel (later one) tuning box from 4k miles and then ditched it for a Jabbasport remap (superior in every way) at 8k miles.

So 22k miles on the remap now and 26k miles tweaked.

I doubt it actually makes much difference to economy, other than it feels smoother to drive and takes off at will.

But for how often you actually use the extra performance over a year of driving... very little so no crazy MPG drop.

Aparently, tuning does result in a less stressed engine under normal driving conditions, so can actually help economy a bit.

But I doubt I get much of an increase as I do a bit of quick driving sometimes to balance it out.

Have any of you altered Maxidot MPG accuracy with VCDS?

Much better when it's being truthful with you :) My Octy was 14% optimistic when I compared the readout against brim-to-brim calcs, then adjusted the accuracy accordingly.
