I was in tears when clarkson blasted around the super market :)

Also the nova hazard switch thing. This does work, i did it on my mates old mk1 nova although hammonds i think was a mk2 nova and you couldnt do it on that i believe? Although many nova's steering wheels used to snap off if you broke the steering lock

It doesn't matter how poor it becomes.

I find it a relief to watch something on the telly

that I don't completely HATE like most of the crap

she likes to watch.  My missus has spent over a dozen

years trying to burn my eyes out with a hand picked assortment of

utter toss from the tv guide.

Even if each week the show only consisted of Richard Hammond loudly revving a parked

Vauxhall Astra whilst Clarkson repeated racist, classist and any other kind of ist

slogans through a megaphone! With James May in the background repeatedly walking

into a lampost and exclaming 'C*ck!' each time he did so I'd still watch it. Just to have control

of the remote for half an hour a week if nothing else.

You could always just find something else to do...

I've not watched TV since before Christmas and it went on last ight as I had two spare hours to watch Rush on DVD which I hadn't seen yet.

Last year my total TV watching came to around 10-12 hours.

And I feel all the better for it.  TV is not what my life revolves around,

I never understand people moaning about what thier other halves watch or how bad Top Gear/soaps/reality TV is.

Just don't watch it.

Mind you, my wife hasn't watched anything since our son was born four and a half years ago! :D

I had to move the climbing frame and one of the sofas last night so I could see all of the screen. :giggle:

Yep, this.

My GF and I like a lot of the same TV shows but we also have different tastes so when she's watching a cookery show or something else that doesn't interest me I'll just go and read a book, go for a cycle or find something else to occupy me.

The idea of sitting in the lounge getting more and more irate about what's on the screen when you don't have to be there is just bizarre.

Top gear. Stopped watching ages ago. As formulaic as Classic FM.

They've had a good run.  Perhaps its time Jeremy and co took a sabbatical and rowed the pacific, climbed mount Arafat and did a decathlon ?

Did anyone notice how the usual girls who are pushed to the front, and sometimes aren't that bad looking, were all completely minging today??? :D :D

When I went to see the show in 2008 the floor managers pushed the good looking girls to the front during the news and the star in a car pieces .

Blimey!  What on earth do you do instead?

The part where he 'pulls over' to talk at a 3 wheeler meet had me in stitches. 3:05

I didn't say I didn't find something else to do. My point was that Mrs Grr hogs the TV

(And the tivo box as well for that matter). I have a second telly and one of my  playstation 3s

out in the conservatory and I usually go and get some video game time in.

Although just lately I've spent a lot of time in the (considerably warmer) kitchen

on the laptop scouring ebay for bike gear bargains. :p

The trouble with the conservatory is that it's always the wrong temperature.

All winter it's freezing cold and all summer it's like an oven. It's being

renovated later this year by yours truly to have some insulation, better lighting and a proper

roof. But for now its like having to sit on the naughty step going out there. Thank god for my little

fan heater....

But in all honesty I'd rather snuggle up on the sofa with the Mrs, get the log burner going

and watch something that we both like. It's just that there isn't that much common ground

between us when it comes to TV shows. If it wasn't quite so dark and wet outside I have a few

little jobs to do on the car and van. I also need to widen my back gate ready for the two wheeled

addition to the Grr fleet later in the year.
