perfect TY

where do i order the cable needed as the cameras are all over eBay but no cables compatable

This is where it can get a bit tricky. I went for a boot release camera and Kufatec interface

Not the cheapest option but excellent & well worth it.

Have you found a camera you like?

Here's a link to a camera I located for MikeHolroyd (as near as poss to mine). More expensive than the ones you like but excellent picture quality & work perfectly with the interface kit.

(Drop Mike a PM, I'm sure he'll confirm details)

I have both, they fit well enough.

Sorry to hijack the thread slightly. I have been thinking of doing this to my car. Do I need both the items in this thread for the installation.

Secondly I never realised the reversing camera wont work if the Columbus firmware is patched for the battery drain issue. I have a new canbus so I dont suffer this issue, however I have the 4020 firmware that is patched for use on Revision A/B units (mine is revsion B) but this also includes the battery drain patch.

Does anyone know where I can get the 4020 firmware that will work on a Revison B but without the battery drain patch.

Cheers

^ yes, you will need both those parts

After a lot of frustration, my camera image is now perfect, now that the power is taken from the boot interior light rather than the reverse lights. There's a photo of the image I now get in post 14 of this thread.

By way of a footnote: Mike; I now see they do a suppressor/relay (extra cost) which might have resolved your interference issue in one go. Better late.... & all that...
