Hi All,

 

I have a blown turbo (impeller took the case out!) so i need a new turbo. I have been looking on ebay at 2nd hand units but can anyone advise what turbos bolt straight on? I know the ALH is the same, but is any turbo with the exhaust manifold the same? I dont understand wht the OEM part numbers are all different but the Garrett number is basically the same.

I want 2nd hand, just to test the engine. so looking to spend £100-£150. hybrid comes later!

Any idea yet what took out the turbo? i remember reading your thread when you were having trouble, and found the blown turbo.

I suspect a remap, injectors and a lead foot combined with 145k is a fairly good way to wipe out the turbo. I am kinda confident the engine is OK...

Got a turbo off an ATD engine, 4 litres of oil in the intercooler.... all flushed out, pipes clean and what adds up to about a whole impeller came out of the intercooler! She fires up and runs ok, i might be paranoid she sounds slightly noisy, but compared to the new VRS she would!

 

Anyway, fingers crossd ill get her back together and up for sale soon!
