Monte Dampers w/ H&R Springs

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Looking to purchase a full set of Monte Carlo dampers & H&R 40mm lowering springs off another briskie member, just wanna make sure they'll fit on my car.

I have a 2008 1.2HTP fabia hatch. They're coming off a fabia Monte Carlo hatch.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Carl

Are they coming off a Diesel or Petrol Monte,

i think and someone can confirm,

they are different Spring rating due to the weight difference between the 1.6 TDI & the 1.2 TSI.

Best check the part numbers for the different cars,

(maybe the seller never got the springs for the diesel if, they are different springs for the lighter petrol and the diesel car,)

I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY ARE DIFFERENT.

Your cars Kerb weight is i think, 1095 kg, and max weight 1550.  kg

so near a Monte 1.2 TSI which is given as 1055kkg & max 1585 kg

A 1.6 TDI CR is given as 1,144 kg & max 1674kg

I'm pretty sure the diesel springs wouldn't be suitable for the three pot 1.2 because of (as mentioned) the difference in weight.  Hence why the manufacturers make different spring sets for the different engine and body (hatch or estate) versions of the Fabia.

Ask for part numbers and search them on Google.

I'm looking at going h&r for my springs, i can get off amazon for £111 (vrs)
