My mates ibiza fr had electric folding mirrors. Did the fabia ever come with them?

Would I be able to retrofit them to by fabia with parts from the ibiza?

Is the wiring for the folding mirrors in the fabia as standard?

Any help is appreciated.

Audi A8 has same shape mirrors and electric folding, could be a better starting point

You may need to replace more than just mirrors if its anything like golfs will need the wiring and probablly module to control the mirrors, then it will need coding and thats hoping the ibiza module will communicate with the fabia system.

Sounds like it could be a complete PITA.

most things are as ive found out on fabias, they are based on the mk4 golf platform which isnt as upgradable as the mk5's. the seat ibiza's do seem to come with more options!

Yeah I agree. My mates ibiza had more toys than my fabia

Is there a definitive list of what you would need if u based it on a seat leon set?

Don't know very much about electrics to call a spade a spade, but.

 

IF: you did manage to fit a pair of electric mirrors, power via a relay on (doors unlocked) to enable mirror movement outwards, tied in with door solenoids.

Then, power via a relay (doors locked) to enable movement inwards, again tied in with door solenoids.

 

You will have to know which wires move door lock solenoids in/ out to then connect to electric mirror wiring.

Also wiring on mirrors to tell which wires moves them in/ out..

When I looked into it a few year back, best I came up with was the seat alhambra wing mirrors, tones of them are auto folding and have the same switch and mirrors apart from the base.

Some fetteling will make them fit no problem, I'm not sure on programming them with the module. I'd try and do it a different way so maybe hold the switch until they are folded in and push it to fold out until fully out, sort of a switched permanent live. As factory will be push the switch and watch them fold!

I thought they are based on Polo 9N. I know that 9N3 had a few models with electric folding mirrors, this might be a start.

if you can take the 9n3 mirrors, then the only issue would be running the fabia wiring loom into a terminal block and outputting to the polo mirrors? IN THEORY.

 

Its probably MUCH more complicated than this, such as checking the polo to see whats in the door in terms of relays etc.

Could you port the running gear over to a fabia mirror set? from a polo setup, then as i said, run the wiring into a terminal block - probably needing to tap into an extra feed for the folding motor?
