For the third time now when driving in third gear and breaking my fabia VRS accelerates on its on, the first 2 times I was not sure but today I was on a car park and it started to move forward gaining speed, I breaked and released and it started to move forward pretty quickly only stopping when I dropped down a gear.

I do have cruise but it was not touched has anyone had this before or am I going completely mad?

What speed were you doing to be in 3rd in a carpark? Are you sure it's not just the revs at idle that is moving the car?

Electronics shouldn't let you brake and accelerate at the same time.

Unless you have a drug problem I'd get the car checked asap.

I thought that the first 2 times but it really did gather speed quickly so much so I was worried about hitting one of the parked cars very weird.

I think you're in too high a gear, 3rd seems a bit OTT for a car park.

Espicially in the vRS, 3rd's best at around 34mph, I even find 2nd to high for car parks sometimes...

So what revs were you at? I find above 2k is best with the PD130. If you were at idle in 3rd it will move quite quickly.

Aye - wouldn't the anti-stall be trying to keep the engine running, and with that much torque it'd be enough to give quite a push?

It's the anti-stall pushing the engine along. My Dad complained about the very same thing until I showed him what he was doing wrong. Watch your rev counter next time it does that, it'll be almost idling - the torque keeps pushing it...

Yep agree its the idle on the pd's is something else! I can take mine all the way upto fourth with no gas!!! Come is useful with the students!!!!

Another agree for idle/torque theory. I put my car in 4th for roundabouts, no gas, just idle and hold on!
