P3137 intake runner problem

Featured Replies

As per title, the cars been down on power especially at low rpm for a few weeks but I haven't had time to plug it in.Its showing an intake runner fault so I plugged in vagcom and reset the value in basic settings and it showed no fault once that was carried out.i also reset the throttle then took it for a drive.Well the cars never gone so good but I'm worried its only temporary until the flap sticks again .Is there an intake spray I can use to try to help the flap or is it a non serviceable item and do I just need to get the credit card out and buy a new intake :(

No one? or is there somewhere else in the forum I should post?

I think a new intake is the answer buddy, if i mind right.

So the fault is not really with the motor that controls the flap?

I think w8 performance had the same problem but not sure what he changed. The whole manifold is bloody expensive :(

I had this error come up on mine. Sometimes the 'flapper motor' just looses it place and needs basic settings running on it. You shouldn't see the issue again.

I also ended up cleaning all the carbon build up off my intake ports so gave the manifold a good clean out aswell.. you are much better off stripping it down and doing a manual clean rather than just using these 'sprays' that so called do it - I tried those to no real success.

Ok basic settings done so fingers crossed the fault stays away.

Certainly it pulls stronger just now and hope it stays that way. Thanks for the replys

Completely agree with R8MXX about manually cleaning the intake manifold. Its a job I am planning to do. Its amazing the amount of cr@p that gets in there from recirculated exhaust gas particulates and vented crank case gases dumping in oil - it makes a lovely black glue.

The sprays for 'cleaning' the intake system are rubbish. Now, must get around to ordering that new manifold seal….
