Saw a Wellington Green Cab company Skoda Superb, which I'm sure said Hybrid on the back. Didn't think Skoda had produced a hybrid anything.

Correct. No hybrids from Skoda planned yet.

 

I wonder if they were just playing their "All our other cars are hyrbids card" or maybe they just stickered it up the same as the Priussss's not thinking that it's not actually a hybrid!

 

A hybrid Superb would be nice actually. It could be possible one day as they are releasing the Audio e-tron next year I think.

Maybe it was saying: 'Greenline is better than Hybrid'?

It was all vinyl wrapped like this Prius:

 

 

Then the original badges re-attached on top.

Seems strange that they have all Priuses and a Superb.

Must have at least been a Greenline Superb.

I posted on their Facebook page and got the following response:

 

Good spotting. After very careful consideration and based on the Skoda Superb having better emissions and fuel economy than the Toyota Camry Hybrid we have decided to put one into the fleet. The first Superb which is a 1.6l CRD engine was introduced into our Wellington fleet with a soft launch in November. So far the customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. 

Here at Green Cabs we feel that by introducing the Skoda Superb into the fleet it helps us showcase the fact that it is possible to get a large car with excellent fuel economy and low emissions. We also hope it will provide a strong incentive to the manufacturers of larger vehicles to give much more consideration to ensuring that they too are environmentally friendly and that this isn't just left to their smaller vehicles.
