My MFD2 has got alzheimers!

Featured Replies

My Factory Fitted MFD2 Head unit works fine for a while but every now and then it forgets to turn itself on with the ignition and you have to manually press the Power button/wheel. Once its happened it will carry on this behaviour until you disconnect the battery for a few hours and reconnect. Then it remembers again and is fine for another few months. Does anyone know what im doing wrong or what could be causing the problems. I don't mind having to physically turn on the stereo but it forgets what track you have got too on the CD and because I only do short journeys I end up listening to the same songs over and over. A bit like listening to Capital FM :giggle: . Other than this the Head unit behaves fine all the buttons work the CD playback and Navigation is spot on.

Mine does the same now and again, done it 3 times I can think of in the 3 years I've had the car.

I do not recall anything else happening at the same time, so like you I have no idea why it does it.
