Popped battery back on after work today and did the 80 mile round trip to my Nan's and all is good.

No hot connector and a nice 12.3v and 14.3v running.

Thank you to those that helped and the guide on the forum for the repair.

A happy bunny. Love it when you repair the car yourself. :)

I do still have "the rest"of the battery top fuse box area, just not the alternator feed attached to it anymore.

I bought an AA version of the fuse box from eBay used and changed it to an AF version with parts from my old box.

I just found the whole black cable from fuse box to alternator from the first car. :o  :D   Did you end up buying one, Matt?

No, I cut and re-crimped the end and all seems good.

I am monitoring it though each time i use the car. If I have any worries with heat I might just have that off you if its still available in a few days.
