Hi Everyone, been a while since I've been on here with last time being five years ago with my skoda fabia vrs but anyway I picked this up just before Christmas for the sum of £800.00 Bargain!!! or so I thought. but any way hello everyone its nice to be back driving a skoda again and I've always wanted one of these. Read on to see what Ive done in a month

 

 

the car overall is nice bodywork wise but the wheels are now past it. it also needed 4 new tires so on to ebay I went and picked up these as they are similar to the spiders. they are only temps but will do for now till I can get hold of a decent set of spiders.

So after a full service including cambelt and waterpump, I turned my attention to the brakes which didn't feel very nice...........no wonder lol so on went new discs and pads all round plus new rear callipers as both were stuck.

The car upto last week, problems still to fix

 

- Ride Height

- Airbox has a massive crack in it

- Simply doesn't feel quick

- Interior carpets and seats are disgusting!!!

Ok on a £800 car I was never gonna spend £600 on suspension and so far the brakes were a b**ch to do so it was off to quickfit to borrow a ramp off my mate and his tool box always handy. picked up the cheap fk setup for £180along with new bushes etc..so now she looks like this, excuse the night photos it was a long day. Two days later we had to raise her a little so she didn't scrub but all sorted now and its much better to drive. New MOT done and all cleaned up inside and out last thing was a trip to jim at jkm in Portsmouth for a stage one remap. She made 183 bhp standard which I was very happy with but still to slow so after an hour drove out with 211 bhp, What a difference!!!! at 3000rpm I now have over 50 bhp more lower down the rev range and It really feels like a completely different car.

 

Its been a busy month, Now to order the jag XF as my new company car

Very nice motor for only £800. Mine was a silver 51 plate and it was rotten, so you've got yourself a good one - all of them have little niggles.

 

And if you get an XF-R I will hate you

Make sure you order it with a space saver spare and not the gunk kit as them 20s always pop on the sidewall if you hit the slightest pothole. Don't wanna be stranded in the middle of nowhere.
