As above really. My Mk1 L&K has lovely carpet, the MK2 VRS its more like felt. Does the Mk2 L&K have a nicer carpet?

Not that I've noticed, but I haven't compared it to a vrs et al.

I wouldn't describe the carpet in my L&K as deep pile. It doesn't look like anything special and I imagine it's the same as in any other trim level Octavia.

Same too as other VAG cars, I suspect. Certainly my vRS is the same as an Audi A5 I looked at a year back. My Volvo C30 had really naff carpets and I see Volvo are still using the same type across most (perhaps even all) the range.
