No photo (as the trip was on a 'holiday average'), but I managed a genuine 60.1 in my 330d coming from Glasgow to Aylesbury.

Very boring, but proves you don't need a little 3cylinder for cheap motoring :)

 V12 below the lid!!!

Only a V8.

Mk1 2003 Octavia 1.9TDi elegance 110 with 90k on the clock. That's after approx 10 mile commute along A roads and country lanes.

I've had 60 mpg showing (not on the instantaneous) for 10 miles or so between Bournemouth and Swindon on quiet A roads. The reality of living in a city shows below on Fuelly. Our daughter borrowed the Focus to commute and immediately it went up to 38mpg.

Having said that the superb will do 36 around town as long as it's at least 12 miles which I think is good for a big car on urban running.

Currently getting ~30 as per Fuelly sig.

That's mainly due to my commute consisting of 20 miles of stop start on a motorway with an average speed of around 25mph. On a run I'm nearer to 40.

Cant find my pic but I got 48.4mpg in my old Octavia 1.8 TSi on a run back to Sheffield from the Isle of Skye.

I get pretty much spot on 45mpg from my 2004 1.4 Zetec Fiesta. But my commute is 25 miles each way on A-roads.

This is the best I had after a journey home from South Wales last summer

I'd accidentally reset memory 2 instead of memory 1 though so I don't know what the MFD 'thought' it got for the round trip, but brim>brim worked out at 59 MPG. That journey was basically A49/41 to Hereford and then the A roads over to Pontypool, the same for the reverse journey. Best I ever managed out of the Fabia for that trip was 42 MPG.

Over 70mpg on my 25 mile early morning commute across Manchester to Warrington .... on a light footed quieter day in the summer holidays. 1.6 Monte Carlo 105 CRTDI. BUT Normal school time misery and we are talking mid 50's or less especially if I am feeling frisky.

Trip mpg after a 30 mile drive to Bristol.

130 miles up the M6. It over reads by about 5%, so a genuine low 70s.

First pic is on a 235 mile journey up the A9

40 mile motorway

rest A road (with a few short stretches of dual carriageway.

No passengers but a bootload of gear

Just keeping up with the flow of traffic - average speed 50 mph

Second on was a concerted effort!

coming down A9

reset trip at Drumochter Summits so approx 1500 ft fall to Perth

BUT was driving into the teeth of a gale which wouldn't help the economy

Again, going with the flow - average speed 57MPH

Right Ladies and Gent....

A9 southbound from Drumochter Summit to Perth.

Cruise Control set at 60 mph all the way

Air Con On

Eco Mode on

I realise I had the advantage of a downhill journey - did the same a few weeks ago into a howling gale and return 98 mpg - just shows how much difference that makes

Previous calculations have shown the OBC is optimistic by 7% so this is a real 101.8 mpg!

The gauntlet has been thrown down........

My L&K i could get 99.9 if i was trying to get the baby to sleep, the VRS 39.9... slight difference!
