Spare wheel kit just up on eBay

Featured Replies

Just spotted a complete spare wheel/storage boxes/floor fir the yeti up for sale on eBay at what looks like a decent price (£125)

Unfortunately it's in Maidstone, collect only.

Could be of use to someone. If have it if I was close.

Anyone live near Maidstone traveling towards Gloucestershire in the not too distant future with an empty boot..?

Sold while I was trying to work out how to go and collect it in an inexpensive manner.

Ah well.

I am awaiting delivery of my new FL Yeti, now being build week 6.  When I placed the order I totally forgot about the spare wheel :/ when I phoned the dealer yesterday he said they cant add to the order but I could buy a spare wheel and kit with fitting for £285!!!  That is a lot of money and was wondering how much and how easy it would be for me to buy it and fit it?

Not sure of the supply only now cost, but when I got mine (2012) it was around £200 (with 10% discount) . I fitted it myself - 10 minute job.

However, I would imagine that you could get the dealer to give you at least 10% discount as you have just brought a new car from them, and get them to fit FOC

Do you have to put in a false floor?

The kit comes with a new raised carpeted floor, several polystyrene inserts (one which fits inside the spare for the tolls/jack etc), which need to be screwed together, tool kit and jack.

Looks like there's another one (£95 rather than £125 this time) in Basildon.

Basildon!

Make sure it's for a 2wd if that is what you have, as the 4wd kit is different.

Also, the Basildon one does not mention the shaped polystyrene inserts, so maybe worth checking with the seller. A photo of exactly what is on offer would be useful, before any offer.

Hi Truthseeker

As a matter of interest whats the difference between the two ?

Not sure, but I would think that because of the 4wd rear differential, there is a different lower boot panel pressing, so imagine that the polystyrene inserts are shaped to match.

I only mentioned the difference, because Skoda list a separate kit for the 4wd version.

Surely it will fit, maybe some 'wasted' space under the styrene pieces though? the spared boot top floor level should/would be the same in both variants?
