Modified Car Insurance For 19y/o

Featured Replies

Just looking at the sponsors on here and most are 22+ for fully comp! Adrian Flux seems to have a fair few bad reviews and customer service according to people on here! Just wondering if theres anyone whos a similar age and has a modded fab vrs. It's only lowered at the moment but Elephant wont insure me if i want a Roll Bar or Strut Braces. So just looking at other options if and when i decide to delve a bit more into modifying it. Either that or ill just have to wait till im a bit older :(

Hi,

As a company we would be only too pleased to try and assist you when it comes to your insurance. I fully appreciate that unfortunately we do have negative press at times. Very few insurers are immune to this, however I fully understand if you wanted to avoid trying us.

Regards,

Dan.

Dunno how long you've had your license but my experience of mods as a young driver was that despite still being pricey, Flux were the cheapest and most understanding option.

I personally feel that people should look to get a few years experience driving a "normal" car before looking to get a "warm" hatch and start modding it.

Obviously the insurers look at strut braces etc as a handling mod, you only need a handling mod like this if you intend to throw it around a bit and therefore (unless you are intending it to be for the track), you are a higher insurance threat!

I've had my license since 12/06/12 and will have 2 years driving experience this august coming. Currently my Mum and Dad are named drivers with over 15 years driving experience and lengthy no claims on their own policies. If you wouldnt mind pricing up a quote for me then ill send me the details you need via pm and ill get back to you. I did send a quote request away a few days ago via your website and nobody got back to me via email. But i'd be happy to see what you can do on here.

Seems strange that elephant wont insure you for that, they insured me on a mk2 fabia vrs with a map, springs and exhaust mods...then they insure me on a modified imported celica gt4 when i was 19

I would defo give adrian flux a ring though, i got a quote from them before and it was nice to have someone that understtod cars on the other end and not just some robot from a big companie that just wants to shaft you

Adrian flux are great! The guy on the phone took interest in my hybrid turbo setup etc.

When I spoke to elephant she asked me if a hybrid turbo was an engine chip. Lol.

Try esure and Admiral. If you still live a home and your parents drive and have a good record adding them as named drivers should help too. Good luck

Try driving a non modified, lower insurance group card for 2 years and get so e no claims?

I am with sky im 21 :) have mine lowered and on resprayed wheels :)
