MKI Fabia Rear strut brace - interest

Featured Replies

*Hopefully it is ok for me to start a thread about this, I've paid for FREEDOM and just waiting for authorisation etc. So if it's not ok just let me know and I'll start a thread again when it has been activated*

Basically, I made a strut brace for my car today.. And if wondering whether there is any interest for me to make some more? Obviously my car is an ibiza, but they would fit the fabia / polo models too.

The brace would be 45mm in diameter, and include the bolts to secure to the vehicle I'm the same way the forge brace does.

The price for these at the moment depending on numbers would be around £57 posted, but if numbers were good then this could hopefully mean the price could come down with buying the metal in bulk.

These are what the ends look like :

And the finished item fitted to my car for reference :

Now, the other thing is whether people would want them painted or if they are best sent out unpainted..?

Thanks, Phil-J

I'm interested for getting one soon :)

Interested, more photographs? Steel, aluminium?

Interested, more photographs? Steel, aluminium?

it's a bit out of focus but the welds and the seam on the tube suggest steel to me.

Interested, in black ?

I've made one myself matey, can't remember the diameters sure it's 50mm and I can't put the back seats back in because the brace fouls them from clicking into position, if you're gunna sell them make sure the seats fit back in and the tubes the correct diameter bud. Posted Image

Hello

Yes, the brace is steel.

It fits ok with my rear seats, I'll get a photo of this to confirm today.

If people don't want one that is as big in diameter, then I can always go slightly smaller with the size. That's the reasoning behind the thread, just to see what people think etc.

45mm looks good to me :)

Id take one :) un painted would be fine for me I can get it powder coated

Interested in a 45mm one as long as back seats still all fit ok, I would prefer black also.

They can be painted in either satin black, or wrinkle black as I have both colours available.

Do people who are interested want to get some names together? If I have an idea of how many there are that do want them, I can get the metal ordered during the week and get a few made up on saturday.

Thanks again for the interest and comments guys, everyones input helps!

Little bit of a fiddle, just needs the rear side carpets taking off to fit.

Obviously they can be put back in once a hole has been cut for the brace.

Do I need any fixing or anything?? Never fitted one or seen how to fit, but I'd like one please so do you want monies via paypal?

I supply the fittings required for the brace.

My paypal is [email protected]

I'll get the metal ordered once money is recieved. Thanks, Phil-j
