Hi everyone...Im driving a 2003 Octavia VRS..Recently ive noticed a ticking sound..I looked under the bonnet while the engine was running and noticed the tube that goes into the coolant resevoir was sucking fresh air and making a ticking sound..Any ideas why this happens? Thanks in advance

Moved, not a forum software issue!

Are you sure it is the reservoir ticking and not the evap canister next to it?. If it is the canister, it is meant to tick.

Having said that, it has been known for reservoirs to crack, in which case you may need a new one.

Put a screwdriver against it and the other end against your ear ;)

Don't spin round in this position, you'll undo your ear!

the pipe going into the top of the coolant resevoir is making a sucking noise as if trying to draw something through..

Good idea re: the screwdriver..will have to wait though as i am i right handed and i only have a left handed one at the mo ;)

Put the left-handed one to the other ear and it should work fine. HTH. :)
