Well its time for a upgrade.... well 16months later and 23,000miles on the monty carlo it was time for a change to something more economical

 

so i managed to get me a new rapid on 0% finance and well im in love with how the car is.

 

its a 1.6 tdi SE

 

and the car overall has suprised me.

 

collected the car on friday and annoyingly it was raining. so i couldnt see the little scratch that its got (which is being repaired)

 

170miles later and starting to get 70mpg im really happy considering the monty only managed 45mpg on a good day.

 

 

the day i got her.

 

 

managed to give her a wash seeing as it was a dry day im really loving the colour.

Still quite respectable MPG wise then. It'll be interesting to hear what your brim->brim MPG calculation works out at on the Rapid, I'm not sure there are many Rapid TDI owners on this forum atm.

Well atm its on 180ish miles and its half way to 3/4 lol only 1/4 of 1/4 used

Ok will do,I have a mate that is a salesman at Skoda I will have to get him to check or strip his company car down !!

Well a quick update.... the car went back wednesday night so the "detailer" can get the scratches out that came with the car. They got rid of 2 of the scratches but they missed one and put 10x more on it so i have put a conplaint in. Annoyingly everytime i have collected this car from them it has been raining so couldnt look at it there and then so always a few days after

Time to find a new detailer? :(

 

That really sucks man, I hope you can get it back in a pristine state this time!

If they dont sort it when it goes back next week then they can pay the bill for a full detail to get it back right

I picked up my 1.6 TDi SE 2 weeks ago and still getting used to it. (in petrol blue)

Had a 56 plate 1.9TDi VW Jetta before so have a good comparison. Loving the mpg...700 miles at an average of 65mpg.

Im getting used to the diesel aswell as the car size itself.

im really liking the amount of fuel i have used so far... on 1030 miles and only filled up twice and only used nearly a 1/4 of a tank onthe 2nd tank

Well a quick update... cars done over 2100miles now and its had a day trip up to leeds last sunday and averaged 87mpg on the motorway which i was impressed with

today i have upgraded the 2 dipped beam bulbs which are a pain in the a**.

and i have gave the car a quick wash. Still loving the car

I'm guessing he just sticks to 60 at the motorways if he's not in a rush, much the same as I do in my 1.2 petrol.... I like saving money!
